New 2010 Calendar Templates & A Freebie

Hello everyone! I know that it has been a long time since my last post. I have taken a little break from designing this summer and now I'm back in the swing of things. We had a great summer. We spent most of our time camping this summer on the weekends. Alot has happened since my last post. My oldest son Caleb age 20 has left the nest and decided to spread his wings. So far he has done a great job. I hope he continues to grow as a fine young man. My youngest Collin started second grade. Needless to say he has a wonderful teacher Mrs. Wells. We are so grateful and blessed to have her this year. I am continuing on my weightloss journey so far I've lost 26lbs this year. I'm hoping to make that 30lbs by the end of the year.

Ok! Moving on to the freebie. My youngest son Collin just turned eight in September. He just now lost his front tooth. I can remember losing mine I think at six years old and it was such a BIG deal!!! He was so excited as you can see by the smile on his face.

Going with the Tide Mega Kit, CU Mega Kit & a CU Freebie

There is a new Mega Kit now on sale at K-Joi Studios called Going with the Tide. In my part of the collab, I used photos taken by me from our Carribean cruise from Grand Cayman, Belize, Cozumel and Honduras in December 2008 for background paper and I extracted my passport.
There is a LOT of FUN in the water or at the beach that this kit can scrap. This is perfect for the picnic at the beach, a walk along in the sand, for children building sand castles, for the surfers catching waves, for the divers and snorkeling crowd, for swimming, vacationing, and so many more fun beach or water activities!!

This mega kit contains a total of 130+ items! There are 50 papers, 79 elements, and 1 complete lowercase alpha! The papers are all jpg files and are 12x12 and 300dpi resolution. The elements are all 300ppi resolution png files. Im a day late this month with this one. It has been crazy around here two major deadlines at work, extra collabs at my store and then my brother hurt his back (two ruptured discs. He couldnt walk. He had surgery this week. We've been helping out with his girls. He's a single Dad. He came through the surgery great. He can walk and has feleling back in his leg. The Doctor said a nerve was compressed. Then top it all off I spent two hours in the ER last night. My Oldest son broke two bones in his hand and may need to have surgery to put two pins in his hand:( So Im a little behind but I have a little something.

A Vacation, A New Year & A New Look

Well, It has been a busy fall in 2008 for me with work (our busiest season"Flu"season) and planning a trip and taking a trip. It was exhausting. Then In December Right before my vacation My lupus started to flare up I got migraines daily and had vasculitis in my little toe :( I didnt know if I was going to get to go on the cruise. The Doctor wanted to put me in the hospital and I reminded hummmhumm! Im goin on vacation wether I stay in my room the whole time. So he offered me a shot of Kenalog in the hip (Steroid). Boy! Did it work.Three days later no head aches no vasculitis. Out vacation was awesome. We Flew from St.Louis MO to Tampa FLorida December 13 and stayed over night in Tampa. Temperatures in Tampa were cool around 50 degrees. Then we sailed out on the 14th-21. The first full Day we were at Sea all Day We just relaxed and watched the kids Swim and we ate and ate and ate Till night fall. We took Collin to Camp Carnival then Hubby and I hit the Dance floor. Tried out a little of our Ballroom Dance lessons. Boy did they pay off. What a blast. We went dancing every night. Its pretty bad when we get to our room at two am and out 19 year old had already beat us there. One night he told us we were grounded. he's "too funy".

Tuesday, Our 1st port of call was Grand Cayman Island. This island is on a beautiful coral reef and we had to take a tender (boat taxi) to the pier. The temperature here was around 80 degrees or so. There were shops there and we met our ride. We Swam with stingrays and snorkeled at Coral Gardens. It was awesome. I knew it was worth every penny when I heard my 7 year old son squeal through his snorkel. It scared me a moment. I looked in the water myself. Then I heard him mummer in his snorkel "It's Beautiful" as we snorkeled over the coral reef.

Wednesday, Our 2nd Port of call was Cozumel, Mexico. The tempaerature was around 80-85 degrees. The sun was so bright the kids decided they need sun glasses so we found a little shop and they both bought some sun glasses. We grabbed a taxi and went to Chankanaab. The boys swam with Dolphins and Collin and I went Snorkeling again. That boy is a little fish. A young man offered to take us out as far as we wanted with a bouy and some fish food. He also took my underwater digital camera and took some awesome underwater shots of Collin and I from underneath us. We fed the fish and they went crazy. They were rubbing up against us and we were trying to catch them. LOL. They were way to fast. Toward late afternoon the water started to get rougher and Collin swan ahead of me and swam in a rea that was roped off I tried to get to him but a wave got him first and took himinto some coral and he got cut and scraped along his side. The lifeguard was there waiting and helped him out before the next wave came in. He still didnt let that stop him.

Thursday, When we woke up be took a tender to Belize. The Temperature was around 85 degrees. This city is a very interesting City with a zoo and very self sufficient. We had good weather the whole trip. Our guide for the day was Griffin. He took us all over the city, country and rainforest in his Van. We fed Black Holler Monkeys, saw the oldest Church in Central Americal, the Belize River and learned many interesting facts about their gorgeous central american country.

Friday, When we woke up I drew back the curtains and stepped out on the balcony and O saw the most beautiful lush moutainous island that I have ever seen. I knew We were In Roatan Island Honduras. The Temperature was around 90 degrees and comfortable. No humidity. This Island was the most beautiful of them all. We grabbed a taxi and took an island tour. We ended up on the other side at a private place to go snorkeling. we saw banana plantations, cocoa trees and crabs would sneak out of the rocks and bask in the sun. I tried to get good pictures but they were scraed of the camera. LOL. We bought beautiful handcrafted touquoise, jade, tiger eye, onyx, jasper jewelry for $5-10 US dollars. What a deal!
Saturday, we sailed all day and on Sunday we woke up and we were at port in Tampa. We immediately took a taxi to the airport. Little did we know. Our flight was delayed due to bad weather in Chicago. We also found out we were going home to the coldest temperatures so far this year 0 degrees:( We didnt care we just wanted to get home and get some rest. Im grateful it turn out to be the best vacation we've ever had.

On to other news . . . You will notice that this mommas got a brand new look. Coming this month my packaging for all my kits will have a new look. I will be selling a few in the store coming sometime in February. I am also going to be remodeling my blog. As the month goes on you will noticed that items will be rearranged and new things will be added to make this blog easier and more assessible for you. I also have added a poll of some ideas for some kits. Please go ahead and place your vote for your favorite and if you would like to see something different leave me a shout or leave your idea in the comment section of this post. I am very interested in your thoughts. I look forward to creating for you scrapping and designing needs. I hope everyone has the best 2009.

We are going on Vacation!

Well its official. We are going on Vacation. This will be our first big vacation out of the country as a family. Caleb is in College now. He is majoring in Cisco Technology Computer Networking and My baby Collin has begun 1st grade. So we will not be leaving until December. I booked a cruise this morning on Carnival Legend. We will be going December 14-21 to Grand Cayman Island, Cozumel, Belize and Roatan Island Honduras. I cannot wait to go. I really now have to get dfown to business and lose some more weight. I went to the Dr. Yesterday. Ive lost 17 lbs since this time last year. That is progress but it has been slow going. I have found an online community that has really helped. Go check it out at http://www.sparkpeople.com/ It has a nutrition and fitness tracker. There are fitness plans and more. Well I've got some designing to do. Expect a Freebie on September 1, 2008. Tip of the Day

Hi everyone! It good to be back. I have been very busy this summer. This year we have decided to purchased a seasonal spot at a local campground due to the high cost of gas. We have a 30 ft travel trailer and if we went very far we would be paying a fortune in gas. So far we have been camping almost every weekend. So That doesnt leave much design time. But Im working on some new commercial use designer tools.

So much has happened. I lost my external hard drive two weeks ago:(My computer would recognize it. I sent it for data retrieval and they were unable to retrieve the data. This was heart breaking considering it was my back up drive. I lost my design tools, and my psd designs. So from now on Im burning everything to DVDs. To top everything off Last Friday night I got a Virus. My computer has Kapersky antivirus and firewall on it. This virus mimics Micrsoft XP. Infact it is called Antivirus XP 2008. It has a little red icon like the wondows update icon on the taskbar. if you click it it will install and pop ups will start coming up despite having a pop up blocker, it also would only let me use my computer 10 minutes before a blank screen would turn up. So if you have a RED windows update shield on your task bar dont click it. I worked on my system four days till midnight each day cleaning the system up. I hope this doesnt happen to anyone else. Keep you antivirus updated. Mine was updated and I still got it. so There are no guarantees with this one. Also back up back up back up your purchases and your pictures and your files regularly. If you so not have a DVD then get an online service. Thats my tip for the day.

Well all is well in the Lewis Household again. My oldest son Caleb has come home from the hospital and is doing well. Boy, is it good to be home. When I was at the hospital I used their internet to upload this trifold card and well they had 4shared blocked so I couldnt upload to there so I uploaded to You send it, which has limited 100 downloads. This card exceeded that download and I have had multiple request for this card privately so Im uploading to 4shared as promised. Thank you everyone on the kind comments on Caleb's graduation card. Im mailing them out tommorrow.

Our 20th Anniversary & A Sneak Peak

Today, is our 20th Wedding Anniversary. I never dreamed in a million years that I would be here at the hospital with Caleb on my 20th but kids come first. Todd fully agrees. I guess we will have to celebratesome other time. Oh well, we have good news this morning. Calebs creatinine levels are dropping and he may be able to go home tomorrow. His Ammonia levels are dropping also. They gave him some medicine to bring them down. So I may be able to get to go home tommorrow.

I noticed that I have already reached my download limit with You Send it. The hospital wireless internet has sites with downloads blocked here. So I cannot get any freebies downloaded on 4 shared and I cannot upload my freebies. My hands are tied till I get home. I will reupload to 4 shared and insert a download link So if you missed the download you will be able to download by the weekend.

Also I have new kit in pastel colors called New Beginnings. Here is a sneal peak.

Moo Two Designs

Hello all. I am posting this from a hospital room. My oldest son, 18 year old Caleb was admitted to our local hospital on April 4 for a skin infection on his finger. They were treating him for possible MRSA. Well on April 8 He began to complain of lower abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. He couldnt hold anything down and they started to give him fluids by Thursday evening he was very very sick and was not holding anything down. His creatinine level came back 7.0 They told us he was in severe renal failure. He was flown by helicopter to a bigger hospital on Friday April 11 and here we still are. His creatinine has come down to 3.4 (still) renal failure but much improvement. The also told us that his ammonia level is over 50 (way too high) He is somewhat confused at times and very sleepy. They said after he receives treatment and brings the ammonia level down he should improve.

With much thought and tears I have made a decision based on my circumstances at this time and I have way to much on my plate right now I have decided to pull my items to the store. I just cannot manage a full time job,twostores and family right now. Why Moo Two Designs? Well they have the biggest committment and I just am unable to meet that with all that is going on. When things calm down and Caleb get better I may return. I will still be hanging out in the forums and rooting everyone on. Moo Two will always have a special place in my heart and the family there is incredible. I wish everyone the best.
I will also still be selling my designs in the store at K-Joi Studios at this time. I should have a freebie in the next day or so so stop back by soon. Hugs to all.~ Buzybee

Its hard to believe that it is the end of January. My household has been sick all month from sinus infection to strep. I broke out into a nasty rash and went to the doctor and he said it was a lupus flare and he gave me a shot of steroids. Then to top it all off by the end of the week I got bronchitis . So Im still feeling a little under the weather. I did get some Kits uploaded to my stores at MooTwo Designs and K-Joi StudiosAlso is a little freebie for you. December/Jan Homestead Heritage Challenge

Hey I just posted today the new challenge at Moo Two Designs Homestead Heritage Challenge. Anyhow I thought that this month we would scrap something a little different.

The Theme is "Childhood Toys" Sound like Fun? Huh? Well I grew up with Stretch Armstrong, Ms Beasly doll, Baby Alive, Baby that Away, Super Size Barbie, Zippy the monkey, Inchworms, Sit and spins, Lincoln logs, Rockem Sockem Robots, Lemon twists, and last but not least my Easy Bake Oven. Anyhow you could probably recognize the decade and give you an idea of what to be thinking about for your layout. In this challenge it can be anyones childhood toys. You can scrap your parents toys your grandparents or even you childrens toys. You may use any Moo Two Designers kit to scrap (Freebies or Store)your layout. SO go to it take a look at those old photos and if you want to include a picture of a toy or two its up to you. Post your layout in the Homestead Heritage Gallery and post a link in this forum. You can imagine the expense and travel that this family faces. I was diagnosed with Lupus in August 1992. My body was destroying Platelet and red blood cells. I spent a whole month in the hospital having plasma pheresis and high doses of steroids. It is a miracle that I lived. When I arrived at Barnes Hospital I was jaundice and in and out of a coma.Today I am doing well I have good days and bad. But I have learned to take one day at a time. You cannot fight with the wolf and win. Designer Resource: Color Blender Tool

I found this online color tool today. I use it and thought that it would be helpful to others. It can be found at http://www.colorblender.com
The tool works by letting you pick a base colour, it will then create a “blend” of 6 colours which match or work very well with your chosen base colour. It’s really easy to create a colour scheme for your designs. For example if you’re working on a website you can see instantly “good” colors for text, links, backgrounds and borders. You can set the colour mode to RGB for screen based colours and get a suggested Pantone colour. When you find the colour set you like you can save your blends for Photoshop or Illustrator. Super easy to use and very fast.
